After launch · managed website care

Keep your website current and cared for.

A launch is the beginning. With an agreed support plan, CompITS can host your website, handle routine WordPress updates, refresh content, and add pages as your business changes. Before work begins, we define what is included, how requests are handled, and who is responsible for each part.

01

Hosting and maintenance

Choose hosting with planned maintenance and routine updates. Your service plan sets the included work, responsibilities, and support expectations.

02

Content that keeps pace

Refresh services and business details, publish new content, or add pages as needs change. Requests, timing, and scope are agreed within your care plan.

03

Security and recovery planning

Define security updates, backups, and restoration responsibilities. We explain what is covered, how backups are handled, and what recovery support is available.

Client project · CorValues.net

A growing library, brought into one responsive website.

CorValues.net brings together three books, opening chapters, essays, family photographs, and film. The project organized this varied material into a connected WordPress experience, with a clear place for each format and useful paths between them.

01

The need

Present a varied collection of long-form reading, family history, essays, photography, and film in one place.

02

The work

Plan the content structure, refine page copy, build responsive WordPress pages, and present photographs and media with helpful context.

03

The experience

A connected website with clear paths from books to related stories and media, designed to work across desktop, tablet, and phone.

Inside the project · CorValues.net

The decisions behind the experience.

A closer look at how we shaped the structure, presentation, and supporting details—then connected each part into a coherent site. The same thinking helps a business site turn its services, expertise, and customer stories into a clear experience.

Explore the project decisions in detail +

01 · CONTENT ARCHITECTURE

Organize the content before building the pages.

We grouped material around the way readers use it. Each book has its own page and voice within the larger collection, with clear paths from a book introduction to sample chapters and related context. Visitors can choose where to begin and see what to explore next.

✓ Separate landing pages that explain each book in its own voice.

✓ Opening-page experiences with chapter lists and direct jumps into the text.

✓ Related essays, reader guides, and background pages connected where they add context.

✓ Purchase and next-reading links placed at natural decision points.

02 · READING EXPERIENCE

Give long-form reading room to breathe.

Reading pages need a calm, consistent rhythm. Clear chapter headings, comfortable line lengths, generous spacing, and simple chapter navigation help visitors settle into the text and continue at their own pace.

The WATCH sample includes ten opening chapters. COR Values and Beyond the Morning Light each offer five complete opening chapters, with chapter-level navigation and reading controls.

03 · AUDIO THAT FITS THE WORK

Keep listening connected to reading.

Audio gives visitors another way into the books. COR Values pairs five author recordings with the written chapters. Beyond the Morning Light uses AI narration and labels it clearly.

In both cases, audio sits alongside the text, so readers can choose how to continue. The WATCH example focuses on its ten-chapter reading experience.

04 · PHOTOGRAPHY WITH CONTEXT

Give photographs their context.

The family album pairs photographs with names, places, and recollections, so visitors encounter more than a grid of images.

The same approach can help a business present project work, products, or community stories in a responsive gallery with clear captions and alternative text.

05 · EDITORIAL TRANSLATION

Turn source material into clear web content.

Organizations often have useful information that is hard for a new visitor to navigate: specialist language, a long history, several services, or a mission familiar mainly to insiders. We start by understanding what the organization does, who it serves, and what visitors need to know or do.

✓ Identify the questions visitors bring and the clearest promise the organization can make.

✓ Shape notes and source material into plain-language headlines, page sections, and next steps.

✓ Keep the organization's expertise and voice while removing jargon and repetition.

✓ Choose a useful format for each idea: an overview, detailed page, story, photo, audio, FAQ, or resource.

The aim is a clearer web experience that still sounds like the organization. If another language is needed, we plan that separately and recommend fluent review for accuracy and tone.

06 · CONTEXT, TRUST & ACCESS

Connect the details that build trust.

Supporting pages add useful depth: a reader's guide can explain a book's themes; an essay can connect a personal story to a wider issue; a source document can sit beside the story it informs. Clear labels, descriptive links, captions, transcripts, and usable controls help visitors move through that material.

For a business, the same care can answer questions, demonstrate expertise, and make the next step clear.

Website, hosting, security, and email

Support that continues after launch.
Practical care for the whole setup.

A website also depends on reliable hosting, maintenance, security, and email. CompITS can provide those services alongside the build. The answers below explain the options; exact coverage, responsibilities, and response expectations are set out in the service plan.

Hosting and ongoing care

Can CompITS host my website on its own server? +

Yes. CompITS can host your website on a CompITS-managed server, so the team that builds the site can also manage its hosting environment. We configure the site for launch, connect the domain and DNS, enable HTTPS, and oversee the server environment as part of the agreed hosting service. We’ll explain where the site and its backups live, who has access, and how support works.

What does managed website hosting include? +

Hosting is the operating environment behind the site. Depending on the agreed plan, it can include server and service monitoring, routine platform maintenance, SSL certificate oversight, backup coordination, and help diagnosing availability or performance problems. We review the site’s needs before recommending resources, then make the responsibilities clear: what CompITS manages, what the client manages, and how changes are handled.

Do you maintain the website after launch? +

Yes. Ongoing care can include scheduled WordPress core, theme, and plugin updates; checking key pages, contact forms, and other important functions after maintenance; reviewing administrator access; and keeping the backup and recovery process current. We can also help with content changes and technical improvements. The maintenance schedule and included work are set out before service begins.

Security, backups, and recovery

How do you keep a WordPress site secure? +

Security is ongoing work, not a one-time launch setting. We reduce common risks by keeping supported software current, removing components that are no longer needed, limiting administrator access to the people who need it, using HTTPS, and watching for relevant alerts or suspicious changes. We also keep a recovery path in view, because good security includes being prepared to respond if something goes wrong. No responsible provider can promise that a site will never face a threat; our job is to reduce exposure, notice issues, and respond methodically.

Are backups part of the plan, and can you restore the site? +

We can arrange scheduled site backups and define what is covered—website files, the database, and any other agreed data—along with retention and storage. We can help restore a clean backup after an update problem, accidental change, or incident. Before launch, we’ll clarify how often backups run, how long they are kept, and how a restore is requested, so the recovery process is understood before it is needed.

What happens if the site goes offline or is compromised? +

We investigate the affected service, determine whether the issue is related to hosting, a software change, access, or another cause, and agree the safest recovery step. That may mean correcting configuration, rolling back a change, restoring a known-good backup, or coordinating with another provider. We’ll also review the likely cause and recommend follow-up actions. Monitoring coverage, contact channels, and response windows depend on the support plan you choose.

Will updates or security work interrupt my website? +

We plan maintenance to reduce disruption. Where the setup allows, we take a current backup, apply updates in a controlled sequence, and check the site’s important visitor paths afterward. If a change is likely to affect availability or needs a special maintenance window, we discuss that in advance. The exact workflow depends on the site and its hosting configuration.

Email setup and delivery

Can you handle our business email setup and delivery? +

Yes. CompITS can coordinate the email setup behind your domain—from mail routing and mailbox configuration through sender authentication and delivery troubleshooting. We can work with an appropriate business email platform, configure the domain records it needs, and help keep incoming and outgoing mail working as your website or domain changes. We’ll document which provider delivers the mail and which parts CompITS manages.

Will contact-form messages and website emails reach people reliably? +

We can configure website messages to send through an authenticated mail service rather than relying on a basic server mail function. We test submissions end to end, check sender and reply-to settings, and configure SPF, DKIM, and DMARC records when supported by the sending provider and domain setup. If a message bounces, lands in spam, or stops arriving, we can trace the delivery path and correct the configuration or coordinate with the mail provider.

Can you move our website or email from another provider? +

Yes. We inventory the current site, domain records, mailboxes, and services first, then plan the move and cutover. For email, we pay special attention to routing and authentication records so messages continue to reach the right destination. We agree on timing, access, validation, and rollback steps before changing DNS, then test the important pages, forms, and mail flows after the move.

Ownership, scope, and getting started

Can CompITS manage the site and keep it growing? +

Yes. If you prefer a hands-off arrangement, CompITS can manage the ongoing work that keeps a website useful as your business changes. We can refresh existing pages when services, hours, staff, locations, or policies change; plan and build new pages for new offerings, projects, case studies, resources, or announcements; and prepare and publish approved articles and other updates. We can incorporate new images and supporting material, check links and related calls to action, and keep the site’s voice and presentation consistent as it grows. We’ll work with you to confirm details before changes go live, flag pages that appear outdated, and recommend timely improvements. The content schedule, response expectations, and included work are agreed in your support plan.

What exactly is included, and how do we know what it costs? +

Hosting, maintenance, security work, email support, and content updates can be scoped to your needs. Before work begins, we’ll identify the services, responsibilities, backup and restore expectations, support channels, and any third-party services involved. We’ll provide the applicable pricing and service terms for review rather than leave important assumptions hidden in a technical setup.

How do we get started? +

We begin by learning what the website needs to accomplish and reviewing your current site, domain, hosting, and email setup. Then we map the project into a clear plan: what to build, where it will run, how it will be maintained, how mail will flow, and what support you want after launch. You’ll have a practical picture of the work and the ongoing service before deciding how to proceed.
